Education:
3 years decorative arts in St. Luke in Antwerp
4 years painting in Antwerp academy
2 years graphic arts at St. Mary in Antwerp
2 years Wood and marble imitation painting with Flor de Breuck, an
octogenarian driven professional in this particular branch.
I subsequently undertook extensive studies of old masters techniques, to
ultimately develop a wholly owned oil technique by wich I could express
my aesthetic universe.
From 1983 to 1995 there were many exhibitions, including, in 1990, in the
European parlement in Strasbourg.
I always harbored the desire to make a very large painting, which would be
fully integrated into the space. In 1995 I got my first chance to make a trompe l'oeil,
for a staircase hall. With an extra home study of the perspective, I became from
that moment : 'a master magician of illusionism in painting'.
What a client wants: a holiday memory or a complete fantasy, he can really step
into his,...my..., dream world.
Because I realized the importance of technical background, to express yourself,
since 1995 I started to give courses in patination, imitation marble painting,
perspective drawing, painting on panel and trompe l'oeil wall painting. After
several television reports, was teaching others the art of illusion my main activity
until 2007.
Since 2007 I started again with my own collection of paintings in oil and acrylic
on panel and my first means of expression: pastels.
And still, as when I was two years old, I say: ' Open your eyes and see how
beautiful the world is ! '
